With temperatures soaring across the UK, it's important to remember that it's not just people who feel the effects of a heatwave – our lawns do too.

At OutServe Window Cleaning & Grounds Maintenance, we always encourage our customers to stay safe in the hot weather. Drink plenty of water, avoid prolonged periods in direct sunlight during the hottest part of the day, and take regular breaks if you'r

e working outdoors. A little extra care goes a long way.

Your Lawn Is Alive

Many people see a lawn as something that simply needs cutting every couple of weeks, but in reality it's a living plant that needs looking after throughout the year.

During prolonged hot, dry weather, grass can become stressed. Without enough water it will often turn brown, become brittle and eventually enter a dormant state. While many lawns will recover once the rain returns, prolonged drought can leave your garden looking tired and unhealthy for weeks or even months.

The best way to help your lawn through a heatwave is to:

  • Water deeply rather than little and often.

  • Water early in the morning or later in the evening to reduce evaporation.

  • Avoid cutting the grass too short during hot weather.

  • Keep up with regular maintenance to encourage healthy growth when temperatures return to normal.

A healthy lawn requires more than just an occasional mow. Regular care throughout the season helps keep it looking its best all year round.

Our Regular Mowing Service

We know that holidays, family commitments and unexpected events happen, and we always try to be as understanding and accommodating as possible.

To keep our prices fair for everyone, we allow up to two skips of your regular mowing service per season, provided we receive at least 14 days' notice. This gives us enough time to adjust our schedule and offer the appointment to another customer.

The reminder message you receive the evening before your visit is simply a courtesy reminder that we're due the following day. Unfortunately, it isn't an opportunity to cancel or skip that visit at short notice.

Requests to skip a service after this point mean we've already planned the route, allocated the time, and turned away other work. Because of this:

  • A maximum of two skips per season is permitted.

  • Skips require 14 days' notice.

  • Short-notice cancellations may be charged at the full service price.

  • Repeated cancellations or requests to skip services will result in the property being removed from our regular mowing round.

We're fortunate to have a waiting list for our very limited regular lawn maintenance round, and we have to manage it fairly for all customers. Regular scheduling allows us to keep routes efficient, maintain reliable service, and continue offering competitive prices without increasing costs during the spring and autumn when lawns often require significantly more work.

Thank You

We genuinely appreciate every customer who chooses OutServe to look after their property. Your support allows us to continue investing in better equipment, providing reliable service, and giving every lawn the care it deserves.

If you're unsure whether your lawn needs watering or would like advice on keeping it healthy through the current heatwave, we're always happy to help.
